Keynote morning
Tuesday, Oct 27 · Opening Keynote at 8:30 AM · MGM Grand Garden Arena
-
Opens 6:30 AM
Pick up your badge
Conference Check-In is on the first floor of the MGM Grand Conference Center. You can’t enter the arena without your badge, so do this first. Even better, collect it on Monday.
-
Allow extra time
Walk to the arena
The Conference Center and the Grand Garden Arena are not close to each other.
- From the Conference Center
- Head back toward the MGM Grand Hotel and take the escalators up toward “The District.” The arena is on your right, just before Blizz.
- From the hotel front desk
- Walk through the casino toward the MGM Grand Box Office, then turn right toward The District, past Morimoto and the Food Court. The arena is on your left, after Blizz.
-
Doors 8:00 AM
Get a seat early
Aim to be seated 30 to 45 minutes before the start. Breakfast is typically served outside the arena. Once it fills, you can’t stand in the corridors.
-
Starts 8:30 AM
Opening Keynote
Charles Lamanna and Ryan Cunningham on where the platform is headed. The biggest announcements usually land here.
Getting there
Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is about 3 miles from the MGM Grand, roughly a 10-minute ride by taxi or rideshare. The hotel doesn’t run an airport shuttle. For a limo or other options, contact the MGM Grand concierge.

Getting around
- Expect to walk. Plan on 10,000+ steps a day, and more if you’re bouncing between events. Comfortable shoes beat dress shoes every time.
- Mind the escalator. From the casino floor, an escalator leads down to the Conference Center. It can bottleneck at busy times, so leave a few extra minutes.
- Coffee strategy. The Starbucks in the middle of the casino has long lines, especially on keynote morning. Try the one near the front desk, almost straight across from the Grand elevators and just before Losers Bar. Order ahead with the Starbucks app. Guests in the Towers have their own Starbucks.
- Rooms vary. Session rooms on the upper floors are smaller, so keep a backup for popular sessions. The schedule is live in Whova, so check room locations before you walk.
Meals
- Lunch is included Tuesday through Thursday. In past years, lanyard color pointed to your lunch location, so ask at check-in and confirm yours before the first lunch.
- Special diets need to be requested ahead. See the checklist for the deadline and who to email.
- Evenings are on your own, but many partner events include food and drinks.
What to wear and bring
- Business casual at most. Plenty of people dress casually. Comfortable shoes matter most.
- Bring layers. The casino and session rooms run cold, and you’ll move between warm hallways and chilly rooms.
- Bring a charger. Whova and constant networking drain batteries fast.
- Pace yourself. The MGM has a pool if you find a gap. A little sunshine goes a long way.
Meet the Microsoft team
- Stop by the Microsoft booth. It’s staffed by engineers, not salespeople, so bring your hardest questions. Demos and tips run on a rolling schedule behind the booth.
- Look for a Microsoft lanyard. Anyone wearing one is happy to help, and speakers are glad to chat in the hallway.
- Message the team in Whova to set up a meeting or ask where something is.
Optional partner sessions
Evening events
Where to be after the sessions end
Healthcare and life sciences gatherings first, then every industry-agnostic event we know about, including a few daytime lunches and lounges. Most need advance registration, and event-hopping is fine.
Partner event details come from the hosts and can change. Confirm with each host before you go. Times are Pacific (Las Vegas). A request button opens an email to the host’s own contact.
